As an up-and-coming Sitecore agency, Imarc attended the 2022 Sitecore Symposium to build upon its four years of experience working with the platform. Our team came away with many insights that will help us deliver incredible results for our clients and make the most of Sitecore.
We will share what we have learned in a four-part series that will dive into the Sitecore Digital Experience Platform (DXP) and each of its elements: Content Cloud, Engagement Cloud, and Commerce Cloud. This blog post will serve as part one, where we cover Sitecore as a whole.
Sitecore’s solutions for your digital experiences
Sitecore has historically been known as one of the best content management systems (CMS). Its traditional offering, Sitecore Experience Platform (XP), has been used by enterprises to create, manage, and publish content across all their sites and channels.
The philosophy behind Sitecore is to provide the right content to the right person at the right time.
Now, Sitecore offers the Digital Experience Platform known as DXP. DXP is a suite of products that give brands the power to unify their content, personalize customer experiences, analyze user behavior, and optimize their commerce operations. DXP is a SaaS-enabled, composable platform, which allows brands to choose which products they want to implement. Sitecore even allows some products, like Ordercloud, to be implemented on other CMS platforms.
Sitecore DXP is separated into three distinct product categories:
Content Cloud: This includes Sitecore’s two CMS offerings: XM Cloud, its enterprise CMS offering, and Content Hub One, its agile CMS. Content Cloud also includes content operations, digital asset management (DAM), and intelligent content search. Part two of our series will cover Sitecore Content Cloud in depth.
Engagement Cloud: These products are specific to personalization and user analytics so that brands can create memorable experiences for their customers. Part three of our series will cover Sitecore Engagement Cloud in depth.
Commerce Cloud: Acquire and engage shoppers with buying experiences that connect across channels and moments. Sitecore Commerce Cloud orchestrates complex order management and engages buyers in each moment with AI-driven experiences that get them to your site, help them buy, and keep them coming back. Part four of our series will cover Sitecore Commerce Cloud in depth.
This is a high-level diagram of Sitecore’s DXP product ecosystem:
Create unforgettable experiences
At the Sitecore Symposium, our team learned about the benefits of each of these DXP products, and how to use Sitecore to create unforgettable customer experiences. Sitecore offered up these three strategies to meet your customers in the moment at every stage of the customer journey, across channels, devices, and platforms:
Mute the noise
Your potential customers are already getting bombarded with email offers, ads, and marketing calls so it’s time to deliver what they actually want – authenticity. Empathy, not just emails, is what builds strong brand relationships. Sitecore opens the door to more opportunities for brands to lead with authenticity and connect with customers in a more meaningful way. Sitecore’s Content Cloud has products that allow you to create authentic content and push it across multiple channels.
Be memorable
Stand out from other brands by embracing new content strategies. We have seen a huge shift to video, in fact, TikTok has just surpassed Google as the number one search engine. Trying new strategies is great, but remember to distinguish yourself in ways that fits your brand – don’t try to be something you’re not.
When it comes to being memorable, inclusivity is key. Brands with the highest diversity scores see an 83% higher consumer preference. Customers want to see themselves in your brand, and they want to feel valued. When customers feel seen, they are more likely to trust your brand. Sitecore’s Engagement Cloud has personalization capabilities that make it easy to serve your customers content that they want to see, before they even know what they’re looking for.
Build boldly
Start planning now for what’s coming tomorrow. A recent Sitecore study found that 87% of consumers say the metaverse will play a significant role in the way that they shop and interact with brands. Don’t be afraid to take calculated risks, even if it means being the first to try something new. Sitecore’s Commerce Cloud can be integrated with any CMS to serve customers products that they might be interested in, while providing a seamless ecommerce experience.
Get started with Sitecore
It’s evident that Sitecore is looking to boldly provide its customers with value and innovation. We are excited about Sitecore’s vision and look forward to implementing it to help our clients solve key marketing issues and deliver even better results.
