The situation
Broad staffing, workforce extension, project consulting, and solutions giant, Beacon Hill has been a long-term partner of Imarc’s. When our relationship first began in 2021, their team was focused on two primary web solution objectives – building a new website and producing an engagement-forward intranet. The BHome project began after the website launch but required the same strategic care, creative touch, and deft engineering.

The challenge
Previous to BHome, Beacon Hill was using a simple internal directory with some additional functionality. While the team certainly wanted to maintain the directory function, they hoped a new intranet would help them reduce the marketing team’s manual work of emailing resources like human resources documents and increase overall engagement.
The vision was unlike anything we had ever developed before - a central spot for all employees to start each day with a user-specific greeting, customizable homepage, a place to serve up timely notifications, homepages for all corporate and division teams, an easy-to-search resource center, a dynamic search bar across the entire site and, last but not least, a fast and user-friendly company directory with an editable profile for each of our 1,400+ employees.

The solution
Imarc went through four distinct phases to bring the project to completion – discovery, strategy, design, and development.
First, our strategy team worked to get input from all the relevant stakeholders and synthesized their findings. Then the creative and engineering teams took the insights and UX-optimized wireframe and brought the new space to life.
To do this they integrated Beacon Hill’s Ceridian Dayforce data, improved the search functionality in the directory with more filters, focused on crosslinking, added alerts with different severity levels, instituted reminders, and crafted fun, personalized messaging that spoke to users of BHome.

The results
Since the completion of the BHome intranet in March of 2023, engagement has been at an all-time high.

Since launching eight months ago, we have received countless kudos from both new and tenured employees citing how integral BHome has become to their daily work life. People specifically love how easy it is to find assets like logos, documents and presentations with just a quick search. People also rely daily on the company directory, which used to be a painfully manual process for us to manage, but with the help of Imarc is now auto-populated via an ongoing upload process from our HR database.

The future
It seems we are always collaborating with Beacon Hill on something, but our next phase will include building a dashboard specifically for their intranet metrics, creating a deal ticker for sales, and bolstering each division page by making each a hub with everything they need to succeed, including a universal calendaring solution.
