The situation
Coalfire is a global services and solutions company that specializes in cyber advisory, assessment, and security. The company also develops cutting-edge technology platforms that automate defenses against security threats for the world's leading enterprises, cloud providers, and SaaS companies. They are known far and wide for being the foremost provider of FedRAMP compliance assessments and penetration testing services in the United States.
However, the website they’d previously been using did not accurately showcase all the services that they offer to global technology, finance, healthcare, and retail enterprise industry-leading businesses.
The challenge
When Ashley Hart joined Coalfire as their Chief Marketing Officer, one of her primary objectives was creating new messaging to position the business as a cybersecurity leader. To execute new messaging, Ashley would have to rebrand and reposition Coalfire with a new site to showcase its three compliance and cybersecurity service lines and highlight its proprietary SaaS platform products. Ashley inherited Coalfire’s corporate site, which was inconsistent in its messaging, hard to navigate, and difficult to understand the entirety of its service offerings.
While it was our first time working with Coalfire Systems, it was not our first time working with Ashley Hart. We knew from working with Ashley previously on several B2B corporate sites, we could deliver the results that she had come to expect from Imarc for Coalfire.
Our team worked with Ashley and her Coalfire team to quickly update their website's look, feel, messaging, and functionality.
Ashley turned to Imarc to help her develop a new site with an easy-to-use user experience and a shorter-than-normal timeline to deliver for Coalfire’s second quarter.
After working with Imarc on several projects, I knew they could build a beautiful site that would reflect Coalfire’s evolution as a services and solutions company and redesign the corporate site in a tight three-month turnaround.

The solution
Coalfire isn’t in the business of fear. Above all they want their customers to feel confident and prepared to face threats and take on challenges that can lead them to new revenue markets and enhanced security posture. That’s why our team worked to promote that position in every area of the website.
To elevate Coalfire's positioning in the cybersecurity space, Imarc focused on its branding and uplifted its visual identity throughout its web presence. By utilizing a vibrant, accessible color palette, vivid photography, and hexagonal shapes and patterns, a nod to their logomark, Imarc created an experience that established Coalfire as a confident and trustworthy technology innovator.
On the technical side, our Engineering team ensured the site was lightning-fast by using both the Blitz caching plugin and Amazon’s Cloudfront CDN.
Speaking of speed, to meet the timeline requirement, the site was built with our Craft starter kit and then adjusted for the needs of Coalfire's content editing team.
Most pages use a content designer with a handful of modules available for their different content situations. For example, we used HTMX instead of Vue for our filtering pages (blogs, news, resources, etc.) to help reduce the load on the client side, as it’s not necessary to load a heavyweight library for simple filtering. This choice made things a lot lighter and gave them the same results.
The results
Since the website launched at the end of March 2024, it has received great feedback. In particular, Coalfire's new site’s Assessment Services page significantly outpaced its previous Compliance Services page.
The future
Coalfire and Imarc are now long-term partners. Though the launch was recent, improvements to the website are already underway. More pages are being added, prep for additional launches is being planned, and optimizations are continual. We are very proud to be a part of their current and future success.
