The situation
It's a little wild to think about, but Imarc built the original Marriott Asset Library more than twenty years ago. Marriott was Imarc's first agency client, and we have always loved working with them to keep their internal tool fresh.
It has been updated several times over the past two decades, but recently, Marriott's leadership team recognized the need to change the experience more substantially and to give the product a more branded feel.
Managing enterprise-level applications is complex. You must keep up with the expectations of your user community and evolve your application to meet the organization's ever-changing needs. For these reasons, we decided to invest in redesigning and rebranding the Marriott Asset Library when we did.

The challenge
The media management tool has long been a mainstay for Marriott’s entire team. It was primarily used for finding and cataloging images, but it now needed to be more focused on facilitating its users' day-to-day tasks.
The solution
To effect the necessary evolution of the Marriott Asset Library, we collaborated with the team at Marriott to build a custom brand around the new name – The Stacks – that made users feel happy, productive, and engaged. After the brand choices were complete, we implemented the design, updated the user interface elements, and focused heavily on the homepage experience, making it more robust, customizable, and personal for every type of user.
The results
Instead of positioning the application as a media repository we shifted to a focus on brand and marketing activation. This positioning is more in keeping with the long-term value the application provides to the organization and the user community. Now we have 'The Stacks,' an application with a cool new look, a cool new name, and the right focus for the company. All thanks to Imarc.

The future
While we are very proud of this work, we expect to keep evolving The Stacks to meet user needs. Marriott's team is known for staying on the edge and we'll be right there with them to support any goals they have.
